Fusion Milk Paint is super easy to use - just mix with water and get painting! The packets take up a lot less room than tins and you only need to mix the amount of paint you need. Mixing your own paint also means you can easily adjust the opacity to suit your project. Its buildable application lets you achieve the finish you are going for - flawless and smooth or chippy, shabby chic.
.
If using over bare wood you can just get painting, for previously painted finishes
give it a quick scuff sand to dull the surface, and for shiny surfaces squirt some Ultragrip into your paint mix to aid bonding!

Autentico is a firm favourite at Shabby Nook - their paints are suitable for both exterior and interior projects and can be used on lots of surfaces - including walls, woodwork and primed metals (like radiators). It's not only their paints that we love, their creative powders are perfect for creating faux finishes including rough rock, rust and copper verdigris! Terrapieno is an embossing paste that is perfect for creating raised stencilling - you can match it to your project by colouring it with your paint!
.
Autentico Volterra is a 100% mineral plaster paint that we stock in Paris White. Volterra is brilliant for creating textured finishes like Tadelakt plaster you see in Moroccan interiors, or cool urban concrete style finishes.
Friend of Shabby Nook and fabulous upcycler Kerrie Dunker from Salvaged Alchemy recently transformed a plain wall to a faux concreate finish using Volterra - how amazing does it look?! Kerrie applied it liberally using a roller and trowel and spread it around and dabbed at it with the trowel whilst it was drying to perfect the texture and placement.

Percy & Albert Interiors are back in the spotlight this week with this absolutely fabulous drinks cabinet transformation! Paul is an incredible upcycler and we're very proud to have him as a Shabby Nook Associate - just look at the quality of his work!
.
First of all, Paul stripped this piece using Autentico Bio-Strip removing all the previous finishes and coatings which really paid off as he discovered that there was stunning woodgrain under there! Bio-Strip is brilliant as it doesn't use chlorides meaning it is bio-degradable and safe to use (and remember, if you use code ENDOFSUMMER at checkout you get 30% of it at the moment!)
The body of the piece was painted in Midnight Blue from Fusion Mineral Paint. He used two versions of General Finishes High Performance Topcoats - Satin over the bare wood for sheen and Flat over the painted areas for added protection. Paul also added a generous glug of General Finishes Orange Oil to the drawers giving them a fruity fragrance. Thanks Paul for sharing this seriously chic piece with us!
